I noticed today that my tiny white silkie has little red mites on her head.its too cold to give her a bath.. I dusted everyone and the coop but was wondering if the cold would kill the mites??

As long as they have a warm chicken to live on, they will never die! Muuuuuuuhahahahahah! (evil laugh).

Sorry, but no. Those that are on the chickens have built in heaters - those hiding in the cracks and crevices of the coop just go dormant until things warm up. Sorry, but that's how the little buggers operate.

Repeat dusting everything in 10 days including your silkie.
