Will the duck eggs hatch if I put some under my chicken?

I have my female Cocoa that has been broody for about a week- almost 2 weeks now with 15 eggs under her. My Golden Laced Wyandotte just decided that she was going to go broody this past Thursday. She is sitting tight on unfertile chicken eggs.

I wanted to buy some silkie chicken eggs to put under her but don't know if that will happen. I thought maybe I could take a few eggs maybe 3 from Cocoa and put them under my GLW. Will this work or are the eggs not going to do well being moved around?

50/50 chance
Chickens wont keep the ducks eggs with enough humidity but some will hatch usually

I was wondering about the humidity thing and how long they have already been under my duck.

My really big hens have hatched duck eggs with no trouble, but my smaller hens can't cover them as well and the humidity doesn't stay up.

That is reassuring.

She is a pretty fluffy girl. What do you think is the minimum I should put under her?

If I move the eggs from my ducks nest to under my chicken do I need to make sure they are setting the same way?

I dont think so your hen will put them where she wants them anyway

I guess I will try and stick some under her. She is just so dedicated. I tried to move her to make her get something to eat and drink and she just stayed crouched down and tucked up, I just ended up rolling her out of the door.

I guess I will put 3 or 4 under her. I will let everyone know how it goes.

Any extra tips on this kind of thing are welcome.
