will the eggs be ok?

I keep giving my broody hen some eggs to sit on untill she ive sorted out some eggs i want her to hatch, the eggs have been under her for two days and i want to replcae them with fresh will the eggs be ok to eat? will they be moldy? or have a chick in? i do have a rooster. Also how long is it safe to leave a broody with out her propper eggs? like as in for her to stay on long enough to sit on them

Your question/s are a little difficult to understand. If she has been setting on eggs for two days, they have started to develop. They will not be 'mpody'. I can not decipher your last question.

I spelt moldy right! well on my laptop it says that, and i know i make every thing confusing. i will try again. If a hen is broody how long can you wait before giving her fertile eggs? like how long will it be safe because i dont want her to get bored and give up because i havn't got eggs yet and she has been broody since thursday.

yes apart from the 3rd one is wrong im asking how long she can go with out having her full term eggs. because say she was broody for 2 weeks then i got her the full time eggs, i would not want to have left her to late for her to leave the nest 2 week later and im a he

You could eat them, I guess. I wouldn't. They will not be moldy, but they will probably have started to develop. That's a delicacy in some parts of the world, so suit yourself. I doubt they would make you sick, but I am not a doctor.

If she's already sat on eggs for two days, why are you taking them out and replacing them? She'll probably hatch them if she's been on them two days. Hens don't count calendar days, they pretty mich sit until the eggs hatch. However, the longest I've ever let a broody go without either giving her eggs or breaking her has been four days.

Edited to add: the more you mess with her, the less likely she is to sit.

I'm taking them away because I'm waiting for some eggs I have baught online so when they come I'm going to gather my eggs out of my sheds leave all eggs to settle 24 hours then she gets them

Oh, gotcha. Yeah, that should work. Switch them out at night for better luck.

I've been known to give mine golf balls to sit on while I saved up the eggs I wanted to stick under a broody. Chickens--not the brightest bulbs in the animal kingdom.
