I had a bunch of eggs in my incubator. I took out all of the infertile eggs and they all had a heart beat and were fertile. On day 19 they started to pip, over the next two days I got about 1/2 of the eggs hatching. Now it has been 2 days and I still have 1/2 of the eggs, which were fertile, left in the incubator - but nothing has happened. When I candle them they are full with a chick, but still nothing has happened in 2 days. I think that it is possible that the incubator temperature was a bit low at one point, but will they hatch???

Welcome to BYC!

Are these remaining eggs rocking and rolling! Did you open all your vents at lock down? Up your humidity to 65% or 70%? The humidity level and the open vents are very important for them to hatch. Also, where is your incubator located....inside the house, near a draft or door? These things can effect temps and humidity in the bator causing a partial hatch. Were these shipped eggs? This can effect the hatch as well.

You might want to post this question in our Incubating Eggs Forums for help with this. But think about these questions I asked you as these are pertinent to why you had a partial hatch...

Good luck and keep us posted!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X2 on post in the Incubating and Hatching Eggs forum about your eggs, but if it has been two days since the rest of the chicks hatched and these eggs were set at the same time, they probably are not going to hatch.

You could try gently tapping on the shells, or chirping to them, to see if you get any response. They could be just a bit late. Maybe they were at a cooler end of the incubator. As long as none are leaking or smelling badly, you could give them a little longer.
