Will these work? ( PICS! )

I have used that type of water in the past. I filled it with marbles and/or tumbled stones so they woudl have to stay out of it. Those type of feeders the quail can get into the holes and on top of the food. If the food is low in the bottle they can get into the bottle. Not that it hurts them but just a note.

Maybe with the waterer that some are worried about... can you strap it to the sides of your brooder and raise it up and put marbles in it? That might take care of all the problems without having to spend more money. Any one try that before? ( sorry, I'm a newby trying to find ways to make what we have work!

This may be illegal but...

The USPS priority mail boxes would work perfectly for that... * Don't get me wrong, I ship Priority mail at least twice daily! That's why I have extra boxes!* But they work swell...

I have a big rabbit water bottle, but I don't think it's right for Buttons.

Do you think Wal - Mart would have something I could use for a waterer? Like a caged bird waterer?
Do I need to order something from a catalog?

mrs fluffy, I use the exact same waterer as you have pictured, if you happen to have a small square piece of 2x4 or something like that to sit it on it helps to keep them from messing the water with shavings or poo. I never had a problem with my 12 spilling the water. They are in a medium wire style dog kennel covered in screen wire. I dont have a nest box, as I tried that and they avoided it at all costs lol. They just like to lay where ever they feel like, though they recently made a nest out of shavings in a corner that they like to lay in lol. The feeder: I use a plastic version of the same thing, only problem I had was when I used the jar they kicked all the food out onto the floor and had the thing emptied within hours, yeah hours, a WHOLE mason jar full of food...wasted. So I took the jar off....all was fine. They stopped wasting food as well. They just didnt like the jar apparently I have a feeling it is because they couldnt get to the large hole at the top. lol. I would also add a sandbox for them if I were you. They LOVE LOVE LOVE to have a sandbox. I think that covers your questions, have a great time with your Buttons.

USE THE WATERER! *dont mean to seem like I am yelling* There is no sense in spending more money, I do NOT use rocks or pebbles or anything in my waterer, just put it on a square of plywood or something to elevate it off the shavings youll be fine. Mine like it better this way anyway
