he has no feathered legs because he is not a true silkie. Some where in the breeders line, there must have been another type of chicken. I think its a cockerel. But I usually sex my silkies when they are about 5 months.

I think(the black one) it's a pullet. Plus I think you would have heard a crow by now if it's a male. It could be a very slow developing cockerel though.

I second guess myself a lot on silkies, but honestly I think both of them are pullets.

Black one is clearly a cockerel, the white one.... I'll need tail pics.
