Will they eat the lime?

I need to lime my lawn and I also free range my guineas. I'm guessing they'll eat the lime. Is it bad for them?

I don't know, but you could ask an avian vet if no one here has an answer for you - someone probably will, though. Can you pen them up for a day or so while the lime absorbs? That's what I do (with my chickens) when we have to do something to the lawn.

I don't know either, but I do know some people put down lime on the soil in their pens and in the coops and it does not harm their birds... but WHICH kind of lime is safe for poultry I am not sure of, because I do not use it/never have used it. Sorry I don't have more info for you. You might get more info if you ask this question over in the chicken forum section....
