Huntsville AL,
I have been reading that the hens wont set on the eggs if in captivity. I have my Bobwhites in a 2x6 ft. A- frame tractor! I will be getting a roo this fall, if he is there will they hatch out a clutch or just pop out the eggs and continue with business. At the moment i only have one nesting box so will i need one for each hen? If i wanted them to hatch out the eggs would they have to be separated by themselves with one hen and one roo. I have lots of questions and would like to hear some answers!! Thanks!

They dont brood under any circumstance that you can control. One in a million or so will randomly go for it but its nothing that can be counted on. Their instincts are damaged beyond repair at this point so if you want to hatch quail start looking into incubators.

Thanks , this is what i thought would be said, that they wont do it...
