Yesterday i had to bring in two of my Red Stars because they were getting pecked on their backs to the point of being bloody. I can handle getting them back to good health, but I can't duplicate their lighting in the basement. They were in the barn where there is a skylight that faces south and runs the lenght of the barn. Inside I have a light on a timer to give them enough light to lay through the winter. Do you think these two will go into a molt with there light cycle changing so quickly? If they do I can build them a small coop and put them in a stairwell that leads to the basement from the outside. It has electricity and is much warmer than outdoors. A good project to use some new Christmas tools on.
