How long do you expect bloody stools after starting Corid?

So we ended up losing 10 chickens before we realized what was happening but we started treatment with corid on July 27 and they began laying again on August 15 so that a little over 2 and a half weeks they will continue to appear tired and have bloody or wet stool until around 2 weeks but the first week they don't do much of anything since they are recovering. Also weight loss happens are rooster lost a lot of weight within 3 days of exposure but he's looking better now. The really big egg is from yesterday but yes they will recover most likely it just takes time since coccidiosis spreads so fast and causes damage quick but it's good you acted fast we weren't so lucky unfortunately bunny my splash cochin was so incredibly horrible to lose I cried for weeks she was so special

Do you have photos of the birds and their droppings?

I'd make sure to keep the water stations clean and see that they are drinking the mixed Corid water really well. Dosing is below in case you need it. Direct oral dosing can be given 2X a day for 3 days, this is in addition to them drinking the mixed Corid water.

Coccidiosis is caused by Coccidia which is a protozoa. There are 9 strains that affect poultry and they are found in poop and in the soil. There is no way to eliminate Coccidia from the environment, so trying to disinfect is futile. Birds can build resistance to the strains found in their environment through exposure, but it's important to treat them right away when there's an overload.

IF you are seeing no improvement, then I'd get some Toltrazuril ordered and continue with the Corid until that arrives.

Liquid Corid dose is 2tsp or Powdered Corid Dose is 1 1/2tsp per gallon of water given for 5-7 days as the only source of drinking water.
Do not add any extra vitamins/electrolytes that contain B1(Thiamine) to food or water during the course of treatment.

I have cleaned to coop with a 1:1 vinegar and water, I just wasn’t sure what I could do in the run other than replace the wood chips but they of course keep pooping while recovering so I’ve been out multiple times a day spot cleaning.

Yea our rooster got very thin too but hes recovered now he stoped crowing for a while I think he was sad he lost 10 girls

He’s so handsome! They feel!!!! I understand livestock vs pets, but it doesn’t matter. They are living creatures and have personality and deserve the best. He’s mourning his girls

Any pics of your setup?

I don't think woodchips would be the issue. Our first two sets didn't have any issues, then we had issues with out third set, we had a lot of rain that month and turned their area into a muddy swamp no matter how I tried to keep it dry (pine chips mainly at time) and ended up losing two bc we didn't catch it soon enough. Same place we had two broods and our two sets.

It sounds you've caught it soon enough so keep with it and see it through and they'll be stronger for it

This is exactly what I’m dealing with here in Oklahoma! Everyone was fine and healthy until one flood for two days, I even tarped them and had them covered and dry. But the dirt just 1’+ around their covered run got a little muddy, covered with pine chips.
Now my 3 are quarantined being tested daily stressing me out! I’m super worried but noticing they are finally eating again. Fed orally today, in their water and also in a mash in their crumble. Went 2 days without eating and hours later today after orally taking Corid, they were a little perked up chirping sitting in the sunshine and eating again!
First for me. (9 weeks old) My older hens are far away from them for the next month.

For anyone interested now or who may find this post in the future:

The whole flock is MUCH perkier today - day 4 of Corid in water, day 3 (final day) of oral drench. They look back to normal, no one was sitting puffed out at all today, and I haven’t noticed any bloody droppings

Hopefully we are turning a corner. I am still concerned with a few girls who are very thin. Will be treating with DVL Poul-vite after the Corid treatment is done.
