I don't see how that hardware cloth is attached, and bet it needs reinforcing. Also, you need actual locks on all the doors and openings, something a child couldn't open. Otherwise, he's raccoon bait, or available for any predator.
How heavy is it? If two big dogs can move it or tear it up, or if you have bears, it's not good enough.

I bought one similar to that and the hardware cloth is brittle and it would not protect my chickens from a raccoon. Also mine came with barrel bolt latches and they really didn't slide deep enough into the latch plate and so are easily unlatched. I paid a bit of money for it $290...but I am using mine for shelter and an egg nest for when they are out and about. It will also be a nice chick shelter later on.

To the OP, you bought that just for a rooster? Why?

How many other birds and where do they stay?

Just from looking at it.......no, it would not. Would keep a rooster or small flock if birds in, but would not keep a lot of varmints out. Several can dig under it and coons could open the doors.......some others.....like dogs......could just smash it in.

As an aside (and don't take this as a knock on you)........there are small coops like this available all over the place. Uninformed buyers rightfully think they were made to house chickens, which they are not. They are just an assembladge of materials made to sell.

I only have one rooster! I thought i should get him a smaller coop for him!! I will see what I can do to try and make it safe!!

Oh ya...those locks are flimsy. We used combination locks or keyed locks on the outside of our mobile coop. Haven't found anything that's figured out the combo yet. 😁

Depending on what predators you have in your area, that could be safe enough with a few changes, or not... Obviously a bear can knock it over, large dogs could probably dig under or even through it. For coons latches would need to be replaced or reinforced. I would also consider aproning the entire unit and staple it to the ground for added security.

Thank you everyone! I’m not sure if we have coins but I know for sure we don’t have bears lol I have skunks dogs cats and opossums
