Starting to understand the Catch-22 between providing ventilation for the coop and keeping predators outside.

We're putting one layer of this over our windows:

And this over the window in the door:

Is it sufficient for keeping raccoons out? We also have coyotes, hawks, skunks, etc in the neighborhood, but it seems that the raccoons are likely to be the biggest problem.

Same thing I was thinking, looks aluminum if so noway would it stop a coon.

That should work, I use hailscreen (1/2" galvanized mesh) over my windows, haven't had any tear thru in the last 15 years. I did make a mistake of using just plain window screen for the rafter vents under the roof----raccoons reached thru and pulled a chicken off the roost and out that 3 1/2" opening, what a bloody mess. I replaced the ineffective window screen with metal vents used for house roofs.

If it's steel it will work.
Make sure you're screwing it to your door/window every few inches and not just using staples.
Just a thought. Good luck!
