If you are having fog issues, plexiglass shutters might be a smart idea as long as you are willing/able to commit to opening and closing them as necessary.

The 'plexiglass on a standoff' idea you mention would probably also reduce fog input some -- although whether that'd be enough to prevent your coop from getting all wet I am not going to wager on one way or th other -- however remember that will also be greatly decreasing your ventilation. Instead of the vent area being (width x height of opening), the vent area will then be (4" x [twice the width + twice the height]). If this will still be sufficient, then I'd say go for it, if the shutters idea seems impractical to operate.

Pat thanks for weighing in. I was hoping you would look at this thread...I was about to PM you since you are the undisputed queen of ventilation and mud around here! Thanks to everyone else's kind words of advise also!
