Thanks on the brooder, piece of 2x4 osb plywood from the side of the road with a bunch of old lumber from our old swingset, and an hour time, free ultra heavy duty frankenstein brooder, plus a wood box after.. I'm all about free, multi purpose stuff, and I did most of it myself, hubby just ran the drill, I just don't have the knack for putting in 3" decking screws I guess. LOL

My new (Very first) chicks are almost a week old, boy are they fascinating, and fun, and funny. LOVING the meal worms.

The extra calcium is not need by chicks and can be dangerous to their kidneys. Avoid it at all costs.
