Im trying to make an incubator.

My friend's friend has bantom chickens, and he said I can have as many eggs as I want.

I want to try to hatch 2-3 eggs. Im in the stages of making an incubator. Its a cigar box that I cut a hole in and put a 7 watt bulb in. The box is 4in x5 1/2in and 3in high. Will this idea work? Big enough for 2-3 eggs?

What else do I have to do to it? Im going to be putting a thermometer in it. Also theres some water so the wood can get a little humid.

What temps do I need to be at and what humidy levels?

Hi, I would add some vent holes and put a wire guard around the light so the chicks couldn't touch it. Then let it run a while to see what the temp does, for that size you may need a lower watt bulb. Looks like your off to a good start though.

Well with the 7 watt I was running around 120. So i poped a 4 watt in and im around 100. do I need alot of air vents?

Just enough so air can circulate through from lower part up out the top.
