hi one and all
i hope you are all sound well i had an email pointing out the fact i had not
visited byc for over a week you see the thing is i have sort of gone into my shell since i lost
my job i have had a deep depression i made a couple of attempts to cast off this mortal
coil got my first job at 10 worked ever since things where hard in liverpool in them days
so i find it hard to get to involved anyway my wife got me a staffy and he got me out of
the house never went out of the door for two years now ive got my hens i built their house
and was lucky to come across byc so i hope you understand that i am not being ignorant
i just dont really know what to do had never seen a forum till i found byc anyway i will
try to join in a bit more well who ever heard of a shy scouser

Hi there and welcome to BYC! We all understand if you need some time away from the Internet. Life happens! More than likely the email you received is just an automated one to help remind members that they are...well...a member!

Post when you can but feel no pressure. Many members just read and soak up all the info they can. That's perfectly ok too.

It's hard to think a bout it now, but things will get better. Sometimes we have to dig down before we can climb out of a hole, but there's always light on the other side! Dogs are great for helping with that. I know I take comfort often in my doggy companion.

Howdy and welcome to BYC. I'm also a new member and currently laid off. (If working I probably wouldn't have had the time to find this site.) While not busy at work I try to enjoy the simply little pleasures such as my horses or just watching my chickens run around the yard. There is also a thread under random ramblings that is full of inspirational quotes. Oddly named quotes and something else I don't remember. Also a joke forum that may be able to get a laugh or 2 out of ya. I like to laugh when kinda down. In the mean time hang in there, hope you enjoy this site and have a wonderful day.

No worries. I just spent two weeks away from the internet and BYC while my family and I were busy moving to a farm we bought in Montana. It happens. )

I was the opposite, when there was no work and no money and no hope and I was so depressed about the future, I dove into this site.
The quote thread is helpful, the random pictures thread is fun, and if you stick your neck out a bit, be brave and jump right in, you find that this is one of the friendliest,kindest, group of people you will ever not meet. (Although I have met a couple of them,)

A new mindset evolved. I have just allowed what will happen to happen. Oddly enough, none of it was as bad as I imagined it could be. and some of it turned out better than I thought was possible.
Try to be of good cheer, and if you need a friend, we are here.

I found it helped me if I could be helpful. I do not know much about chickens, but there is always someone who can just use a word of encouragement. or a hello to be greeted to the forum. Jump in, it is only virtual chicken poo. It doesn't stick.

If ever you want or need to talk or rant, we are here for you. Believe me I have been in similar situations- it was much harder then because I had no one to talk to. With BYC there is always someone that will listen.

Yay. I got a job.

Waa it's getting colder and the job is in Ohio,(1000 mls north east) and the job is only 2 wks long.

Beats nothing. I also got a few days work this past week at 1 of the local ranches to cover my fuel to Ohio.
