Ok. I have four year old hens, one 6 month old pullet, one 4 month old pullet, and two 4 month old cockerels.
Two of my hens lay regularly. Two are about every other day normally, but they are molting now. Past few weeks, I get about 2 eggs per day. I haven't seen the 6 month pullet in the nesting boxes yet, but I have been working long hours, so who knows... I'll check her pelvis later tonight, if she'll let me. She's super duper flighty and skittish.
Anyhoo, the last 2 days, I've gotten an egg color I've never gotten before. It's super light brown - almost pink. Could it be my 6 month old? Or is one of my molting hens laying a weird color because of her molt? Does that even happen?
Here's the egg compared to the normal egg color I usually find:
Weirdest part? Here's my 6 month old pullet, the possible culprit:
Any ideas? Is the egg from one of my molters, or is my Welsummer defective? Lol!
