wind chill and turkeys

Can turkeys get too cold??? It's 12: w/ up coming winds @40 to 50 mph. They have a 3sided enclosure but insist on roosting high enough to peek out the top...

I don't think the shelter is necessary, I just feel it's more humane to provide it if they want it (plus it keeps their feed dry). The wild turkeys manage without a building, there are more losses with them if heavy snow cover buries their food source. I'm sure they will do fine, but wouldn't complain if you gave them some treats
