Last spring when my DH built our first coop I was very impatient with the progress he made. I have teased him about the Fort Knox of chicken coops. I am eating my words tonight. We had very strong straight-line winds here in Ohio today. Probably gusts through our property of at least 50mph. He came in this afternoon to tell me the roofing shingles had blown off the coop. They blew off and landed on the wire roof of the run. Thanks to his patient wiring all of the strips of poultry netting together it held the weight of the roofing shingles. None of my girls were hurt, but they were very upset about the noise. We did a temporary repair and caulked all the seams of the plywood roof since we are going to get more rain. New shingles will go up when this series of storms passes.I promise I will never tease him again when he is "overdoing" one of his projects.
I am a very lucky wife.
