I AM GOING TO BUILD AN 8X8 MY WIFE WANTS A 10X10,BUT I HAVE BEEN GIVEN 16' PIECES OF LUMBER.I FIGURE 8X8 BECAUSE I CAN GET TWO STUDS OUT OF ONE 16'

That is a decision based on your likes/dislikes. Metal vs. shingles.

Best roof is one that don't leak.

Personally I like shingled roofs. Others like metal.

I LIKE SHINGLE ROOF ALSO.tHIS WILL BE MY FIRST PROJECT ON MY OWN.ALL THE CARPENTRY SKILLS I HAVE DEVELOPED THIS LAST PAST YEAR.i FIGURE IF I CAN REMODEL A RESTARAUNT WITH MY BOSS THAT MY WIFE AND I CAN HANDLE THIS

You could go with a 10 X 10 and have 6 foot walls, really will depend how many 16 fter's you have, whether you plan to do rafter style of roof, If saltbox style (where your walls actually hold the joists for the roof) then you will need 2 different sizes of walls, I prefer going with 4 ft intervals 8x8/8x12/12x12 etc, that way you have no waste when it comes to plywood flooring, but you will always have some extra wood that has to be cut off.
