I recently had an idiot neighbor ask about my Americoona rooster...I said oh no he is an Easter Egger...the dingbat asked me what kind of eggs HE laid...being a smart arse I replied with "Very valuable ones when he does lay because they are one of a kind eggs".

A few years ago I fell asleep on the sofa with the TV on and woke up in the middle of the night when the station had switched to one of the shopping channels. A couple of ladies were discussing adorable rooster kitchen decor and had a couple of figurines that after some discussion (including the input from a call-in shopper) they decided that they were female roosters!

HA HA! They must have been doing their nails instead of listening in Science Class!! I can't believe how many people ask me if my hens will lay eggs without the presence of a rooster. I used to look surprised, now I just say to the women who ask, "well, YOU do".
