I was just wondering if anyone used wing bands on their ducks. If so, I have a few questions:

- What brand/size would you recommend for a Peking Duck?
- At what age do you band them?
- Can you wing band adults?

Thanks!

We wing band all waterfowl. They pierce the skin on the wing (like ears on humans) requiring special pliers. They dont come in sizes, unlike leg bands, and can be applied at any age. Again taking care to read all instructions on applying them so not to cause damage to the wing.

oh and we use only brass wing bands. Had an issue with the colored wing bands and almost allergic reaction symptoms.

Thanks Shellie. I have been using leg bands on my sebbies because I didn't know how hard it would be to see them on the wings. Have you applied them to adults or just goslings?

All of them, you dont see them at all once the feather grow in. We put them on the right wing of everyone. Colored zip ties on the legs helps keep breeds separated, bloodlines or specific breeding groups, and genders.

Zip Ties:
Pink - Geese
Blue - Ganders
