Ok question for the folks that are familiar with my broody journey..

Chicks are 3.5 weeks old now and I still have mom and babies separate in the growout pen. They can still see/hear flock in main coop. I do let them out to free range with the whole group but mom keeps babies close to the growout pen. Most of the hens and pullets seem perfectly fine with the chicks but the PBR are still bullies.

I'm leaving in a little over a week and my partner will be taking care of the chickens. He's not hands on but will feed, water, and collect eggs.

Should I try integrating now while I'm able to observe to make sure all is well? Or should I just keep them separate until they're a little bigger?

Should I try integrating now
Absolutely! If the PBR's cause to much trouble, lock them up in the grow out coop. The thing about chicks is they're fast and can escape pretty easily and the bigs don't really see them as a threat to resources. The bigger they get, the more of a threat to resources they become. Get them integrated before that.

Not to mention, you have no idea when momma is gonna wean them, if she weans them before they are fully integrated, they're on their own. I have some hens that will tend to their chicks up till 6+ weeks, and I have others like Cersei that at 4 weeks she's done with them.
