wing pulled off but still attached by muscle, any suggestions

Most likely a raccoon , but the wing is hanging so I cleaned it and dressed it now trying to figure out what to do next. No one around here works on birds , so it would be a two hour trip to a state vet college. Do i try clipping it off , see if it dies off or what. the bird seems to be unharmed right now otherwise and i dont want to hurt it. it seems in good spirits and healthy.

Any possibility of a vet who would take pity on your situation?

i already cleaned it and pulled the wing up and wrapped it. saline wash beto dine rinse and neo sporine without pain killer then clean gauze to hold it in place.

It sounds like the wing was degloved?.. A picture would help. I did have a hen who got a large chunk of her back and the side under her wing ripped off last year. You could literally see what God put into a chicken. No skin or feathers just gapping wound. I kept it clean and covered from the other hens and she is completely fine to this day and still lays very well. She did grow back her downy feathers in the area, but nothing more... just saying they are hardy and yours could still make it if it's not too bad.

How old is bird?
Keep it warm and quiet and confined...I would think it would be in shock, or soon will be.

i think it ligaments or muscle it look as if the bone was not attached just so hard to tell with all the feathers

There was a long thread about a bird who lost part of a wing,
it took herculean effort for months.
I wonder what happened with that?
