I was thinking Hedemora because they are cold-hardy. Silkies, on the other hand, wouldn't do too well on top of a snow-capped mountain.

They are known to be the most cold-hardy breed of chicken in the world, because they have thicker, denser feathering than most chicken breeds, in addition to a small comb and wattles to prevent frostbite.

Not all of the Hedemoras are silkie feathered, which is cool. The hard-feathered varieties are really pretty.
