One of his ribs cracked. With a sharp intake of breath, Bloodwing shuddered, his breathing labored. The pain lapsing slightly, he opened one eye, his beak gritted. "I suppose you're right. If I'm in little pieces, I won't exactly be very strong, will I?"

Looks like the central valley of California, just without mountains in the background. Very pretty!
