"Thank you, you've saved my life!" eagerly Bloodwing downed the poppy seeds, feeling a numbness and absence of pain. Slowly, his mind started to wake up, past the physical sensations. "As for Wingclan idiot of the day . . . I am dutifully honored." He put a bandaged wing to his chest and grinned. "I'll try to win it every day."

"Then I'll try and stay out of trouble, for your sake," he laughed, but quickly stopped as he realized it made his ribs hurt. "Don't worry, as sure as chipmunks are evil I won't be repeating. Anyway . . ." the image of his brother, bloody, dying, and suffocating on the ground flooded his vision. "Anyway, my brother's dead. I won't need to go back," he sighed, struck with a pain that even the poppy seeds couldn't help.
