(Ooo, may I? Can I?

Bloodwing was resting in the branch above Scarlet when he heard the sound. It was faint at first, but immediately he knew what it was. A slow, gliding, hissing noise emanated from a cluster of leaves off to his left, and he froze. To his relief, it was just a rat snake, not even two feet in length. The deep black eyes stared at him curiously as a flame-red tongue licked the air. It stopped, and coiled about the branch to watch him.
Right above Scarlet's head.
Perfect. An evil grin spread across Bloodwing's face as he stared at the sleeping hen who had perhaps dumped the entire contents of a creek over his head. Silently, he jumped on the branch.
It shook, swaying up and down with a rattle of the leaves. The snake, confused, clung on and glared at the strange rooster. A moment later, it began to slide, slowly, from the branch. With a final, fierce glare, it dropped with a resounding 'hiss'.
It landed across Scarlet's shoulders, and seemed to roll its eyes in protest as it coiled its tail around her leg for support.
she does a high pitch scream and falls off the tree branch into the creek "ACK! ACK! SNAKE SNAKE SNAKE! HELP SNAKE!" she screams running into a tree
(lol

Bloodwing decided to hide out of sight within a cluster of leaves. He watched, amused. Then he realized it wasn't such a good idea when Scarlet started running into things. Eventually he wondered if she was receiving irreparable brain damage from the impacts.
It was time for some manly, heroic Bloodwing time.
With a valiant crow, he dropped from the tree and landed on the ground, dust billowing about him as he bared his spurs at the snake. It stared at him grumpily, twitching the end of its tail in angst. With another crow Bloodwing had the snake in his beak, and tossed it into the underbrush, where it landed with a loud thump that spooked a few sparrows into a panic.
"I thought a young damsel needed rescuing," Bloodwing grinned.
