Bloodwing watched her out of the corner of his eye. She knew a lot about mixing solutions. Perhaps there was a little more to her past than she was telling.

a deadly tone comes to her voice "PUT ME DOWN NOW" she hisses, wanting to turn him pink and purple

"Oh, look, a snake!" he said cheerily as he watched a little red belly runner pass across his path.

"Chipmunk chunks," he muttered warily as her talons nearly hit his crown. "Maybe those guys had the right idea about gagging you." But he was grinning, and carefully set Scarlet on her feet again, just outside the hollow log. "We are now out of snake territory," he puffed out his chest. "A simple 'thank you' will suffice."

Bloodwing fell to the ground, dead.

Bloodwing moved his lower jaw painfully, trying to get it back into alignment. "I asked you to use the stick when I was sleeping!" he muttered grumpily. Quite personally, he was just happy to have Scarlet alive and kicking, no matter her . . . offensive mannerisms.
