"Mind if I join you?" from the shadows crept Shadewing, his dark feathers masking his entrance expertly. He nodded grimly to Nightwhisper. "I'm waiting to talk to your leader about sticking around for a few days."

Nightwhisper nodded towards towards him. "I don't mind at all." He then turned around and headed towards the woods,his feathers still gleaming crimson from yesterday. He silently walked towards the Bloodclan border,stopping only when he reached it.

"When I was still a chick,I remember that we had to move from place to place," "It was like we were being chased by something,and I could've sworn that shadows were stalking us day and night." He looked back at the sky,examining the tree's swaying branches. "I remember that one day,I was alone in the forest. There was a shadow,a horrible black shadow. It told me to follow it back to where I belonged,or else something horrible would happen." "My father stopped it though,but when I returned home,my mother was dead. My father said it was wild dogs,but that didn't explain why there were obviously large chicken footprints nearby..and one lone,blood-stained white feather." "I just didn't get it.." He paused then,and looked back to the border,making sure that no-one could hear them. "My father's probably as good as dead anyway..It's like they wanted revenge on him for something."

The world seemed to be against him, the forest ambushing him with it's many weapons all at once. The brambles raked their thorns across his skin as he wearily trudged through tall grass, his body a mess of blood-matted feathers, and burrs. A trail of scarlet-tipped grasses followed behind him wherever he went. At last, he squeezed out a rattled pant before his eyes seemed to roll into the back of his head. His shaking hocks buckled and he collapsed into the dirt, a cloud of dust billowing up and dissipating into the air. He lay there, unconcious with shallow breaths, his cheek smeared into the ground and his legs sprawled behind him.
Through his many wounds and plucked feathers, it was difficult to recognize who he was. Cometflight.

It always made him tired, as if he had suddenly aged a good five years, when he heard of such stories. The forest, so full of life and song, shouldn't harbor such brutal creatures. "When did you leave?"
