Briar sat in the camp wishing she was invisible. She thought about trying to run but these birds probably knew the land by heart. So she was doomed, her Dad one of the only birds that actually talked to her, told her about chickens who lived in the wild.

"Dad, have you ever been outside?" asked a fluffy brown downed chick as she curled up next to the wire.
"No," said the Buff Brahma rooster, "any way theirs predators out their like foxes and owls and other chicken eating monsters and cannibalistic chickens."
Briar blinked, "Are they worse then the people with their blades?"
"No, nothing can save you from the people. Except escaping."
Briar shook, " I'm scared."
Her half brother, Thistle trotted over squawked, "Get used to it."
