@Whisk ?“Astrid!” Frieda called out when she saw her mother. “When did you get the idea to do this?”
Phoebee stared in terror. She looked at the limp body, and at Sapodilla, who was now running towards the school. After making sure she saw no one, Sapodilla approached the edge of the forest. As she peered into the trees, a large Icewing emerged through the foliage. She lowered her head I'm submission.
"you've done very well" The Icewing hissed. "Now you are free to leave."
"No," Sapodilla stated, "There was more to our agreement. You said I could bring one."
"What I said was that you could warn one as long as you kept a consistent and truthful account of what was happening and gave us any information that would be useful, so my group will advance whether you like it or not. They are surrounded. Escape while you can."
"NO!" she shouted, "I have frie-"
The larger dragon grabbed hold of Sapodilla's neck.
"I've done it once," He growled, "And I'll take the other one too."
Sapodilla writhed but couldn't break his grip. He laughed. She had one other option.
She released a stream of venom onto the other dragon's face and he let go, screaming as it burned through his flesh. She took this opportunity to make quick work of him.
Sapodilla stood over the body of the Icewing breathing hard. *good thing he's so full of pride* she thought. *but they're going to attack whether he's dead or not, I need to get back* She turned around and made her way back to the school. Hopefully, she could make up for the part she played in this. If she died? Well? Too bad.
More Icewings were coming. Recluse ripped one's neck open, and disemboweled another. He dodged an arrow, and grabbed it in mid-air before it hit Myrtle. He jumped up, and as he did, said "I'm trying to do what's best for the students!"“Recluse. We don’t have time to argue. I need you to stand beside me on my ideas, not ruin them with educational commentary. “ Myrtle shouted.
