Wings of Fire ~The RP: The Three Continents

Leif continued to blast the invisible Animus, watching the ice form around an invisible body. He hacked and coughed, summoning more frost breath, channeling every shard of ice at the Animus. It seemed to go on forever, and when he finally stopped, his throat burned, his tongue felt raw.

Leif swallowed hard, turning to the LeafWing, tiny coughs racking his throat. "What- uh," he blinked, shaking his head, brow arched, "what was that?"
Atlantis could still feel the cold, even with the protection spell. Now he truly felt incased in an iceberg.
Slowly, the shock of such an immense spell was wearing off and he could hear the dragons as around him, but he was still unable to move very much. A strip of glowing scales lit up on his side, then his neck, his tail. The ice started to glow from the inside as Atlantis began to break free.

"Let's say you win." Cyprus repeated. "You're too powerful, too strong to resist. All dragons on the continent bow before you as their new king."

His tone softened a little.
"But what then?"
"What then." Leif echoed, a confused smile playing at his expression. "What then, indeed. I will rule Pyrrhia. I will rule Pantala. I will rule all dragons, unite all tribes. I will never be forgotten. My name, on every history scroll." He took a shaky breath whispering softly, "And my existence will finally matter."

(Notice this after Cy replies to Leif, Buk)

The Leafwing's eyes widened slightly, taking in what Leif had just said. *He thinks he doesn't matter. That without this he has no purpose.* He gasped in realization.

He looked back steadily at Leif. "It doesn't already?" He asked in wonderment.

The words “my existence will finally matter” echoed in Chenoa’s head. “Oh Leif! You do matter.!”

Kalmar paced his room, sighing loudly. The SeaWings were in desperate need of a Queen. Queen Koi's daughter had been found dead, killed during the IceWing raid. Koi had no other heirs. The Kingdom panicked. They needed to elect a Queen. Kalmar slowly made his way through the Summer Palace, dwelling on the thought of a new Queen and who it would be. The hulking hybrid heard sudden shouts from ahead. His head snapped up, and he quickened his pace to a lope, surging into the throne room. A pair of dead SeaWings bled out before him, their bodies still twitching. A slender dragon, her scales an assortment of vibrant, shimmering greens, lounged in Koi's throne, smiling wickedly. Kalmar gasped, glancing at the few, wary remaining guards, who hesitated to attack. "General Kalmar," the SeaWing greeted in a soft, whispery tone, "just who I wanted to kill." She smiled, her teeth glistening red, as she sauntered from the throne. "Fae." Kalmar spat out the word as if poison. "You should not be here. You were never to return-" "Trust me, General, I know, I truly know. My banishment has plagued-" "GUARDS!" Kalmar shouted. The SeaWings stayed frozen, as if in shock. Fae laughed. "Temporary paralysis, darling. You shall succumb to the same fate, unless," she smiled, approaching the shocked hybrid, "unless you elect me as the new SeaWing Queen." Kalmar leapt towards the SeaWing, snarling. Fae dove, but Kalmar snatched her elbow, twisting the SeaWing's arm and pinning her against the wall. "Never." He growled, his talons closing around Fae's throat. The SeaWing thrashed, her body arching beneath the MudWing hybrid's weight. Kalmar grimaced, holding the dragon down. There was a sudden sharp pain in his shoulder, and he gasped, releasing Fae, his body going rigid. Fae took a calm step back from Kalmar, her expression a mixture of mock concern and confusion. "So predictable," she whispered, approaching the General, the dagger in her talons glistening red. Fae stabbed the hybrid in the throat, leaving the dagger wedged in the dying dragons neck. Kalmar shuddered as Fae leaned down to look him directly in the eyes. She smiled. "Good-bye."
