Wings of Fire ~The RP: The Three Continents

The Leafwing's eyes widened slightly, taking in what Leif had just said. *He thinks he doesn't matter. That without this he has no purpose.* He gasped in realization.

He looked back steadily at Leif. "It doesn't already?" He asked in wonderment.
"How can it- How can it matter after- after this?!" Leif waved his talon vaguely towards the palace. "This is destruction and ruin. I plan to build and create a better future, in which I rule, establishing peace throughout both continents. Uniting all tribes. This is a sad day for the NightWings. But they made that choice by not excepting me! Excepting ā€ŠME! EXCEPT-" Leif clamped his mouth shut, fisting his talons. He took a shaking breath, speaking in a quiet, low tone, "I am the hero of this story."

Cinta turned to Ivory and Paradise. "I want to get closer. I'm going to go hear what he's saying." Cinta swallowed hard, slowly making her way towards Leif, creeping in the shadows.

(Gosh, she's so awkward to RP šŸ˜‚)

"It matters not because what you've done-- but because of what you can become." Cyprus said, looking closer at the Icewing.

"You are the hero only so long as you choose to be." He said.
"And that- That is the true meaning of greatness.
That is what will earn you respect, honor, acceptance, EVERYTHING you strive for. That is what will make your life worth living." Cyprus continued, wondering what was really behind that normally cocky smile and light demeanor.

ā€œI will follow that.ā€ Chenoa said determinedly.

Leif smiled. "I like you, Cyprus, I truly do. You're a great dragon. But I don't think you understand how impossible it is to rebound after- after this. I just led two tribes into a pointless war, killing hundreds of NightWings and RainWings. I was mad, Cyprus, MAD! My soul, it's- it's... I thought it was gone. I wanted to kill Brightscales and Blackflower, I really did, but every time I had the opportunity... I didn't commit. They are simply defending their home, their ā€Štribe." He shook his head. He was saying too much. Why would they care? And now he was powerless. That thought scared him terribly. Leif backed up a step, shaking his head slowly, when the ice beside him shattered and the invisible dragon seemed to emerge. "No," he whispered bitterly, wincing as he tried to think of a way to counter the Animus' spell. The only problem: there wasn't a way.

"Hey, listen to me." Cyprus said. "You've done things that you aren't proud of, and I get that. I've been there."

"But that's not all that's left of you. There is more. Much more." The Leafwing continued.

"There is still good in this world-- because there is still good in you." The Leafwing concluded. "You know who stopped this world from collapsing into chaos and ruin? You. The true you. The only you that matters. You still have your soul, and and you can help us rebuild all of this." He said. "And if you don't trust yourself- fine."

"Trust me. Leave all of this behind and become the dragon you were meant to be."
