Deepstar desperately wanted to follow the others to the desert, but she had been assigned an important job, the most important, by Fae herself. “I’ll have to leave you all now, the Queen wants me back at the palace. It was lovely meeting you Aphono.” She said, trying to ignore the Icewing. “Father said his name was Leif, I wonder…” she dropped back slightly as the Webwings flew on to their Queen, leaving her beside the Icewing. “Leif..” she whispered, so quiet she wasn’t sure he would hear, but a spark of recognition flashed across his face before the facade reappeared. That was enough for her. She turned and began flying her way back home, she would find a weakness, a weapon, something. Something to stop Leif.
Aphono waved her goodbye and caught up with the queens, then began chatting with the Seawing guard, Poseidon, who told him of all the different dragons in much clearer ways then the ice dragon could. He found out about weakness’s and strengths, areas of territory and memorized a few names that everyone should know apparently. The swampy lands below were slowly fading, but the brown mud dragons were not, they waved and cocked their heads, trying to figure out exactly what was flying over their village.
once they were out of earshot of the ice dragon, Aphono asked Poseidon. “So how long ago exactly did the Icewing and Queen Fae take over? They don’t seem….like normal royals. The ice dragon seems untrustworthy.” He said, not mentioning the part where he didn’t trust Fae either.
“Ay, they took o’er right bout as soon as Koi died, well was killed really. The ice dragon says he’s an ambassador. No’one believes it much tho.”
