Wings of Fire ~The RP: The Three Continents

Pyla walked into the entrance of the cave, where she and Nikki were to stay for the night.
"Pyla?" said Nikki in a small voice.
"What is it?" snapped Pyla.
"I'm hungry," replied Nikki. "I've never had to rely on hunting to survive!" complained Nikki.
"Well," Pyla groaned, "You could eat this mouse," she said as she opened her talons. "But if you do, no more complaining the rest of the trip. Got it?"
Nikki nodded, and ate the mouse ravenously.
I can't wait to get their. I just can't wait. thought Pyla.
It was sunrise, which meant it was time to continue flying. Nikki was curled up in a little ball, sleeping. Pyla nudged her with her snout, to wake her up.
"Huh?" Nikki yawned.
"Get up, it's time to get going." Nikki groaned, and slowly got up.
"Pyla, now that we are so close like you say we are, could you please tell me where we are going? Will there be food there?" asked Niiki.
"Fine," Pyla sighed. "We are going to the Night Kingdom, and they will not be sheltering us, I don't think, so don't get your hopes up."
They flew for hours, until sundown, when they saw it: the Border of Night Kingdom.

Idk what time it is rn, I think early morning in pyrriha…

Mavros had a full haul, weapons, sleeping darts from the rainwings, food, a sort of first aid kit and a small satchel of essentials. He was a huge nightwing and the amount of things he carried didn’t bother him in the slightest. He was going to ask the Queen to allow him to try and hunt down the Icewing Animus. It might end up with him dead in the end, but he didn’t really care. He spread his massive wings and took off into the sky, flying for a short while before seeing two small specks in the distance. “Hmmm… wunder who those fellas are.” He mused, squinting his eyes to try and make out what they were.

(Just realized I need to pick it back up with Cane and Astra 😬)

"Oh, I'm nearly finished." The Mudwing said casually, plunking a pile of cementing mud onto the thatched wall with his tail.
"But you will come in, won't you? Haven't had anybody here in quite a while. Care for a snack?" He asked, opening the front door and motioning inside.
Scrollreader grinned “Okay,” he said, moving inside.

Pyla and Nikki continued to fly, and landed by a small cave.
"Who is that right there?" Nikki asked, pointing to a large Nightwing in the sky, with huge wings, and different colored eyes.

“Ah, yes, very weird. Because..” Cicada glanced left and right then leaned over Cyprus’ head to look at the talonprints. “Hey, why is that weird?” She hissed in a whisper. “Tell me so I can say it aloud and sound smart.”
Cyprus glared at her out of the corner of his eye, slightly- no, definitely annoyed. "She wasn't attacked, that's obvious. There would've been definitive sings of a huge struggle if there had been. And Queen Acacia was no small dragon." He said, motioning towards the extremely large talonprints.

"It would seem that she was somehow sedated... or... poisoned." He said, turning and giving Cicada a hard look.

Cicada huffed a long breath, glaring at him. She paused for a moment. “You already know what I’m going to say, so don’t bother acting like I’m suddenly going to reveal some long-lost memory of KILLING a QUEEN.” A stinger slid out from under her wrist and she it held up for Cyprus to see. “I can only paralyze dragons. Not poison them. Not that I DID.” She quickly added.

"Mhm." He said, not convinced. "Time to keep going."

They followed the tracks for a good distance as they got deeper and deeper.
Finally they reached a place where the tracks stopped. just in front of the last two there was a large depression in the earth with a couple of small scuff marks.

"Here. It happened here." Cyprus said, hovering in the air and searching over the spot meticulously, looking at all the little details that would normally be missed.

"She just stopped... laid down.....

....And that was it." He said, his eyes falling slightly.

Cicada knew it was wise to keep quiet. Clearly the LeafWing was still grieving for the queen.. or something.
After a long moment, the exiled HiveWing glanced over at Cyprus. “So.. that’s it?” She said quietly. “She just- died?”

He didn't say anything for a moment.

"Yes." He said simply.

"See, look." Cyprus pointed at a bunch of more normal-sized Leafwing tracks coming from the opposite direction. "That'd be the guards and Queen Flytrap. This is where they found her."
