WINNER has been announced!!!! Win 6 Silkie Eggs

I know! It's terrible. Her silkies were hatched from my eggs. She hatched 12 out of 12! I offered to send her more, but she said she wanted to wait a bit. I love Laree to death, she is an awesome person!

I saw them at her house before the DOGS, BEAUTIFUL little birds. She had given one to one of my daughter's because her baby roo fell in the pool while we were on vacay. I know she doesn't want to brood anymore chicks right now, but I could do it for her!

I couldn't find anymore pics of them on her website, but I may not have looked in the right place.

I can't seem to find the newsflash anywhere.

I found the pics of them after they hatched, but no older ones. I'll keep looking, I must just be overlooking it somewhere.

Thank you. The white silkie on the left if def. a pullet. The one on the right, it's hard to say, doesn't look as filled out as the other. Could be a cockerel.

Do what you've got to do! This was a great idea and very nice of you. The heat is depressing everyone, chickens included! It finally rained here, FINALLY. Now well see if it lowers the temp any! It was only 88 and dh & I used the cooler temps to finish a new bantam coop (still has room for a few more).

I checked out your website. Do you usually breed year round...you know, when it isnthot enough to fry an egg in the nest?

This heat is starting to depress me, I was doing pretty good with hosing the coops, giving ice water, frozen fruit and yogurt. I am very upset that my gorgeous boy went down on me. It's breaking my heart. He is hanging in there though, so I am praying he pulls through this. I just wish I would have caught it sooner, sometimes an hour makes the world of difference.

You had great weather, I'm glad you got some good use out of it. It's always nice to finish a new coop

More birds!!

I usually hatch all year round, but since I started College, I am not hatching as much as I use to. I use to hatch every egg they laid! I always have a rooster in each pen breeding, so they are fertile all year round. I don't have an extra coop to keep my roosters separated. I need one though because I need to keep a couple of extra roosters esp. during these super hot months.

So many people losing birds to this heat, it breaks my heart.
