Winnie is gone and Hermine is limping

I came home today from work and my beloved Wyandotte, Winnie is missing and my Cuckoo Maran, Hermine is limping. They have been free range while I am at work for over a year with no problems, but today I fear the worst has happened! We have looked all over and can't find Winnie and I am not sure what to do with Hermine. She is not exactly hand tamed and will just run or "Sweety" the man of the house will attack me if I try to get near her.

I am so sad and just thinking about what happened devastates me. I am leaving for vacation on Friday and havoing a friend comin to check on the chickens every couple of days and I am so worried now!!!!!

Will she come if you call and shake a bag of food? She's probably traumetized if something went after her!

We tried. Usuaually I will go out with leftovers and yell "girls" and they all come running, but she didn't come. I am really worried too because she is an escape artist and could have gotten out when I put them away in the coop last night and no one noticed this morning when they(could have been husband or kids) left them out before school/work.
She is so beautiful, I hope she is just hididng somewhere.

My Majel drove me crazy one day-She showed up at sundown after I looked for her for hours!

SHe didn't come back at dusk. I am so sad. I also can't seem to et to Hermine to check her foot out. It looks like there is a lump on the top of her foot. AAAAHHHHH! I had a year with no real problems

Awww, im so sorry. I was hopeing she would come back at dusk. Dang! Maybe you can catch the other at dusk, when she goes to roost. I hope her foot is ok!

I will have access to an incubator after we get back from vacation on the 26th and would like to put one of winnies eggs in to be hatched. They are in the fridge though. Would that be possible if they are in the fride that long?
