Well I feel a bit disheartened. (I’ve no idea why I keep posting on here about my duck but there we are 😂)

after a week on anti inflammatory and pain killer Winston was back to normal no limp. I’d decided on getting girls for him to be with and they’d be a nice family I thought.

A few days ago he started to decline and he’s now back to struggling to walk around very much just sat there really 😞 after a discussion with the vet and the breeder who I was going to get some girls off it looks like I’m out of options.
He’s a meat breed that basically was never intended to live past whatever age it is and his legs aren’t built to hold his weight. I’m a bit gutted that the outcome is a bad one. I know lots of people will say he’s just a duck but I always become attached to my animals. I live in a very remote location, other half is a farmer and works long hours so other than the dog he was a nice bit of company so feeling a bit sad for him tbh 😞

So sorry, that’s heartbreaking news. Don’t ever let someone tell you “it’s just a duck”. We all have great love for our pets, and it’s a very difficult decision to make. You should make the best decision for his happiness and know that you gave him a wonderful life.

Thank you. I just feel like I’ve let him down a bit bit at the same time I don’t think it’s fair to let him limp about like he is 😞 those decisions never get easier
