Sino returned after fifteen minutes or so with two fat rabbits, and a mouse. He dropped it at her feet.

Winter woke up and ate a rabbit and the mouse. She licked Sino. "Thank you, dear."

Merope laid quietly in the hole, watching her pups play. "Stay here!" she said firmly to them, "I'm going out to hunt.". And with that she left, catching two rabbits, three squirrels and five mice. She dug a hole and buried her finds in it, then set off to hunt some more.
