I know its done and over, but take this kind of thing with a grain of salt. Im sure he was just jawwin. Some people just do not have an appreciate for all other breeds.

Over there there are lots of OEGB people that say only their breed is a real chicken. In general the coasties tend to be more rude and standoffish, for a real fun show you should go to one in Montana, they are all super nice and fun.

Well, there are judges and then there are judges. Anyone can judge a county fair and call themselves a judge (by that light, I am a judge.) Then there are judges who have been through the ABA/APA programs and are certified. Big difference!

I would Love to go to a show in Montana! I love Montana, but my hubby would have a fit! He is not a chicken person. That would be too far to go to a poultry show in his opinion.

The man was putting down my Welsummers actually. I brought the daughters of my Champion Large Fowl and Champion Continental from last year. They did not do as will this year but still placed high. I think he wanted me to buy RIRs from him. That is what he went on about anyway.

Montana is the best, its only like a days drive for you. We are lucky here, right in the middle of both areas so its a long drive to the coast or Montana. For you it'd only be maybe 12 hours if you took the long way. Just sayin...

i ran into one of "those" people once they said i couldn't win showmanship and my ducks werent good well it just so happens i won champion medium waterfowl (my class) and got champion in my class in showmanship so its even better when you wipe the floor with "those" kind of people its much more satisfying!
