Winter Brooder Help

I was wondering if I got baby chicks in winter, and kept them in the brooder until spring. They would be in the garage with a heat lamp. Would this be ok? Thanks!

As long as you can keep temps in the brooder where they need to be they should be fine

Agree w/ gal5150. They're age will have something to do w/ the temperature. Make sure there is enough ventilation unless you want your birds to have respiratory issues.

Your bigger problem raising winter chicks is obtaining them. Finding a source close by so as to minimize chicks being subjected to below freezing temperatures in transit is key.

Availability isn't going to be as wide as spring and summer, even major hatcheries.
