Winter brooder - help?

Just got a space heater. We'll see how that works before they arrive.

Hang a thermometer at Chick height about a foot from the heat sorce...See what it reads....

I think they are trying to heat the garage somewhat.
Plate is for chicks, as you mentioned previously,
but needs to be in a room that is about 50-60F.
