Winter Has arrived!

Burrrrrrrrrrrr! I'm not ready for the super cold. it's only chilly here, but the cold is suppose to be heading our way this week.

I am not a cold weather person - it is 79 today but the weather is going to take a turn this week some time - i am not looking forward to the snow - boyi am my chickens are ready for it.
Do chickens and ducks enjoy the snow?

Frozen Chicken, I've always dreamed of seeing the Northern Lights. So far, I've only seen them in pictures in books and on T.V. programs.

Is there ever a sound associated with an event of Northern lights? I hope that is not a stupid question. Some of the events I've seen on TV are just so colorful and bright. It is so unreal. I wonder if it sounds like anything?

We get the northern lights here in northern UT off and on. Mostly there is no sound but it seems like I remember sound from them when we lived in BC. There is no real sound but the whole atmosphere has a charged feeling to it (in my opinion) and at the same time I feel like my mind hears a slight electric type of sound.

We have been trying to get ready for more snow - what we've had back in October melted quickly. Supposed to snow this week. Today was nice but the winds this evening were quite chilly.

anyting below 32 f is cold. when i retire from this job i want to move somewhere that you can leave your lawn chairs out side year around. don't like cold or snow.

Hey frozen chicken, what part of AB are you from??
We don't have any snow yet, but it is supposed to get down to -17 tonight. That is pretty cold when it was about +3 this afternoon. I was raised up on the Alaska Highway, mile 101, well Wonowon, and we could here the northern lights, it remined me of a grass skirt swishing.
Haven't heard them since I moved to AB.

I would KILL to see the beautiful northern lights, however I'm quite enjoying my california weather, thankyouverymuch. XD I could never live anywhere else because I'd either be roasted or frozen.

LOVE all the snow pictures. It is 25 degrees out this morning and finally feeling like it is supposed to at this time of year. It has been the warmest fall I can ever remember. Love fall and winter.

My children and I are studying astronomy this year. We have discussed how much we would LOVE to get to see the northern lights!!! And here you are posting pics!!!! Keep them coming so I can show my kids. We are also studying Brendan the navigator and Leif Erikson. Brendan saw gods in the northern lights on his way to America. I can't wait to show my kids your pics

Ps it's still in the 70's here in Arkansas. Thta's warm even for us at this time:-( I can't wait to get to wear a winter coat!
