Winter is Coming! Checklists, tips, advice for a newbie

Thanks so much everybody!I purchased the game bird 22% feed. They seem to love it.
In the evening I looked for mites but saw none.
I did see that rooster though, he just up and ripped feathers right out on the poor hen he was mounting. A big chunk of them off her head.
I might need to make adaptive hen sweaters soon (made of undies or not :p) no wonder they are getting so bare.
Then, if that wasn't enough, he bit me, so I am not happy with him right now.
Still doesn't explain the chests though, so it's probably a combination of both molt AND overly randy rooster.

Here are some pictures of the ongoing winterization project.
This weekend, we managed to get the burlap cloth around the covered run area, right now the flaps are just hanging, secured with washers and some scrap wood "blocks".

We placed some plastic shower curtains between the run and the main fence as well.
Most of those ripped to shreds last year, so we'll see how these do.

We plan to line the bottom with bales of hay to keep the majority of the snowdrift out of the area... Boy did we get a lot of snow last year!

The new addition for the other rooster and his hens is complete, (...why did I insist on keeping two?) and the trio are finding it quite cozy. We still need to plastic up this area, to make sure the snow stays out. .

Lady cluck is that an amerucana roo? Looks like my boy... I also kept two Roos, thus two flocks two coops... Agh
