Winter nutrition?

We had a break through today! Clint and Crackers ate all their food today :) it made me soooo happy! I gave em a bit more tonight and even put some in my hand and Clint mowed right down on it, I think i'm going to gradually cut back what I mix in for dry pellets and see how that goes but i'm happy they're finally coming around :)
Divas!

That is awesome persistence paid off !!
Oh by the way Miss Lydia I am in Maine Central ish part of the state :)
Oh now I understand the snow ya'll really got walloped. You All[ducks included] have to be some very hardy ones to live there.

It's tough dealing with that fluffy snow. Ours has gotten enough of a crust that the birds can walk on top now. Some of the ducks realized today that they could reach the porch by climbing up a snow bank! There's four steps up to the porch and they can't get up there normally. Hopefully your snow gets better so Clint and Crackers can get out and about!

It warmed up last day or so! We hit 52 yesterday I couldn't believe it, and today around 30 with windchill but I had just enough energy yesterday after working all night to shovel out the 3' of snow all around the ducks house and pen and put some hay down for em. Took a trail of peas to get them to come out of the shop where they've been but now they're happy about it! The snow has settled just enough so they can walk a bit around on top of the snow now. They've come up to the porch to visit which is really nice, and they have been doing pretty well with the ff. They're now getting about a cup and a half of the ff mixed with about a cup of their layer pellets. They are also enjoying the cave I made for them too :)

How cute. Maybe a TV and they will settle right in.

I love their snow cave! I'm glad they were able to get out and about. It's been a long winter and my birds have been feeling cooped up for sure.

Just an update the ff is becoming a hit! They are starting to love it, I still have to put a little dry food in with it to make it not so soupy as they like to add more water themselves haha. They are getting displeased if I mess up and they have to miss a day of their ff. And I have ground breaking news, they just turned ten months old on the 2nd and I got my first egg from Crackers on the 1st of March! I now have two eggs one each day so far and I'm so proud of her, she's a tough little thing and has been getting extra loving for squeezing out the eggs!! Thanks for all the helpful information everyone!!!!

I knew they'd eventually come around and embrace the FF. It's good stuff!
