WINTER QUESTIONS from new-ish mom!

My flock has experienced -23F and did fine
A tad bit of frostbite took the tips of my roosters comb and that's it.
You don't need the heat lamp. The risks far outweigh any benefits.
Great advice. I’ll be adding pallets this weekend (even though they are genuinely chicken to everything I’ve ever tried adding lol) - thank you so much for the feedback.

They initially hate change. But eventually, curiosity gets the better of them and they will enjoy the objects to fly up on and dig around.

If you feel like there isn;t enogh room for a lot of different "things for them to do", you can always put a few things in the run, leave it for a week or 2, then remove that and add other things to "keep it interesting". (Thought I would add roosts and leave them in. They will be above head height anyway so not taking up floor space.)
