I was also wondering if it could be frost bite. It has been below freezing here for months and several roosters are showing the affects.
Glad to know others worry about their poultry being bored. Without trying to be insulting, I'm not sure my ducks, chickens and peacocks rant very high on the intelligence scale of the animal world. Still they all like their various roost which are made from old lumber or large branches. Small amounts of treats are giving daily but spread out so they have to go looking for them.
