Winter water?

I think I will, or the stuff like tape. Foam sounds easier to apply, but tape will conform around curves.

Arg, too many choices!

If you buy foam pipe insulation "tubes", cut notches for the corners. 45 degrees from vertical, half way through the tube, both directions. This will make a 90 degree "corner".

Here is the outlet I am going to use for my 2 heated dog dishes for the winter. I purchased the same one last year for my ice melt cables for the roof & had no problems

Hmmm, 3 reviews. One 1 star, One 3 star and One 5 star. Talk about "what to do, what to do"!

There's no "perfect" angles. Need to get an updated photo now that the heating wires are wrapped around it.

It is the concept that is important. put the pipe insulation over the hose and notch as little or as much as you need for acute angles.

I think my girls would just peck it all off though.

I was curious if anyone had any experience with these and chickens, good to hear feedback! i think that would be better for my small flock, the other types again seem like overkill and chickens don't make such a water mess anyhow.. my ducks would swim in that

we had to downsize our heated buckets because they were swimming in them last winter lol
I used this last year with my 4 chickens. It worked well, but be prepared to clean it out every day. They do scratch odds and ends into the bowl. I set mine up on a few bricks and that did help a bit.
