Winter waterer

I just looked my my stock tank heater. They claim it is plastic safe. From their website:
What does “Safe in Plastic” mean? This means that the manufacturer has tested the unit in plastic, structural foam, and pond liners in the worst conditions to assure the unit will not harm the application. All tests are conducted in accordance with Underwriters Laboratories testing specifications.

The stock tank deicer is the most expensive part of this watering system. It costs about $40. However, mine is on its 5th year of service. It is also pretty efficient as it turns on at 35 degrees and off again at 45. No need to purchase a separate thermocube.
